Subject: Latest information regarding the payroll issue

    Dear Brothers and Sisters

I just received the below information from management . I will keep you updated with the information  as soon as I receive it.

Regarding the payroll issue you contacted me about this morning, nearly 90,000 individuals, all APWU bargaining unit employees, are anticipated to be impacted by a payroll error this week.  The individuals will fall into three categories:

    1. Individual will receive no pay
    2. Individual will receive only one week’s pay
    3. Individual will receive the base pay, but no overtime

It is unknown at this time how many individuals fall into each category and the locations.  Those affected individuals will be provided the option to receive a salary advance at their local office.  I’ll provide more details about the situation and solution as I receive it.

RENO -- The Nevada State AFL-CIO, representing 150,000 union workers across the state, announced their endorsements for the 2018 elections following their Committee on Political Education (COPE) Conference in Reno on April 16-17. Their recommendations included dual endorsements in two of Nevada’s top races. The labor federation decided collectively to endorse both Chris Giunchigliani and Steve Sisolak in the Governor’s race and Steven Horsford and Pat Spearman in the Congressional District 4 race. Delegates to the COPE Conference cited the progressive record of all endorsed candidates in advocating for working people on issues ranging from health care to raising wages to bringing good jobs to Nevada.

“The Nevada labor movement is excited to support candidates who share our vision: strong unions, quality education and vocational programs, affordable health care for all, and a Nevada where people can work to provide a better life for their families,” said Nevada State AFL-CIO Executive Secretary-Treasurer Rusty McAllister. “Working people in Nevada are ready to rally behind leaders who have our backs. As we saw in 2016, union members are a key force in helping pro-worker candidates to victory.”
